Betting On The Racing Post Results
Most horse racing handicappers and system traders always bet on the post position of the race, not the actual results. They think that if they win by a small margin or two they will still come in ahead of their opponents and that is better than having a loss. They fail to understand that what they are actually doing is betting against the odds and if they win big it means that their competitors have done something to cause them to lose. What they fail to see is that by betting and putting a lot of money into the horse, they could just as easily end up losing it all, so it is better to try and pick the winners and do not bet on the post position because you are going to stand a higher chance of winning by doing that method.
Another reason that people bet on the racing post is because it is an easy way to go long when you are on a good system. This is where many mistakes are made when it comes to betting on horse racing. Many people will either pick a horse that has looked good and has had a great run or they will try and figure out how to handicap the race and bet based upon a race that has been run a long time ago or on a horse who was last seen winning. By doing this you will be able to pick a horse that may not have been as healthy as it appeared to be and it can be a good bet.
When you look at the racing post results and you see a long string of losses and maybe even a couple of wins then you can easily start to think that the race is probably not as good as it was looking. However, if you look at the racing post results and find a long string of wins then maybe that is a different story and you may want to give the horse a second chance. Even if you are only giving it a second chance, every second counts in horse racing and you never know until you try and find out what is really happening with the horse.
